Happy Thanksgiving!
Ya’ll, put on your stretchy pants, and grab your fork because it’s Thanksigiving time! Just kidding, it’s not all about the food though I do love some pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes (but not together! That’s gross!) but it’s the season where we are encouraged to take a more intentional time to reflect on what we are thankful for to God.
I’ll start. I’m so thankful for the life I get to live with my husband and our soon to be baby boy who will be making his arrival by the end of this month or beginning of next! And I’m so grateful for YOU! Having First Position to love and serve has been such a blessing and each year it gets sweeter and sweeter!

When you purchase online, keep an eye on your email for a confirmation from “tututix”—that’s where your tickets will come from.
This year, we’re encouraging families and students to think intentionally about who to invite. We are challenging every dancer and family to invite 7 people who don’t yet know Jesus so they can experience the beauty of the show and hear the Gospel message.

🎄 Christmas Parent Show Pick-Up Week
November 10th–14th (During Your Dancer’s Regular Class Time)
It’s that time of year — Parent Show Pick-Up Week! During your dancer’s class, parents will come in to pick up their Christmas Show Information Packet and get everything needed for a smooth and successful performance season.
Your packet will include:
✅ Costume checklist
✅ Dress rehearsal schedule
✅ Show information and details
✅ Additional important updates
During this time, you’ll also:
🎁 Pick up your dancer’s costume
🌸 Sign up for pre-ordered flowers
🍰 Let us know what you will be brining for the dessert reception
🙋♀️ Reserve volunteer positions for show week
Parents MUST be present to pick up this information.
A $25 holding fee will be added to all family accounts that do not attend.
We kindly ask that at least one parent (mom or dad) attends and comes prepared to sign up for volunteer opportunities and other show needs.
Giving Tuesday 2025 | ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!
First Position is a nonprofit organization and as all ministries prepare for the year end fundraising efforts, we are gearing up as well! One event that is a COMPANY WIDE fundraising campgain is: Giving Tuesday. We invite you to join us in making a meaningful impact! This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a dance family and support those who have a passion for dance but face financial challenges.
Giving Tuesday is on December 2nd
Our Goal:
Our year end campaign focus is on Studio Build-Out Project! Our campaign is called “The Next Step Project”, where we aim to raise $15,000 toward building out the studio and finishing projects we have had to put on pause for the time being. Our financial goal is $15,000 to be raised by the end of the year. For Giving Tuesday specifically, we are working to raise at least $10,000 of that money from individual donors. In addition, we are working really hard to find 3 major donors who will give toward matching the gifts that are made during Giving Tuesday.
How You Can Participate:
Spread the Word: Talk to your friends and family about our mission and the importance of this initiative.
Promote with Us: Giving Tuesday is mostly a email and social media campaign so as we are preparing for this, we are going to be posting a ton on our social media about the exciting giving opportunity we have. We encourage you to post on your personal social media pages, share what we post and continue to let people know the reason we are raising money!
Encourage people to give: If you can encourage just one person to donate, you can help us reach our goal! Here are the options:
Giving ONE TIME donation (this can be $25, $50, or even $100!)
Becoming a monthly donor - this will also contribute to our numbers!
At least $200 as a one-time gift (which will qualify for our matching gift program)
Gifts of $200 or more will qualify to be a gift that is matched!

We’re hosting a Pizza Party with Purpose — and you’re invited! Families, students, and supporters are encouraged to come ready to WORK and make a difference!
We’ll have tables set up where parents and students can send texts, emails, and Facebook messages to friends and family to encourage giving right on the spot!
🍕 Enjoy pizza, bring a dish to pass, and join the fun as we celebrate each donation with live updates throughout the night!

Raise the Barre
November Monthly Master Class
🗓 Date & Time: Tuesday, November 11th | 7:30–8:30 PM

Ages: 10-18 + Adults!
Our November Raise the Barre master class is all about Turns & Pirouettes!
Come learn the secrets to amazing turns, work on CORE strength and balance and do fun combos across the floor! This technique workshop is sure to be a blast!
Perfect for dancers looking to improve their technique
Also great for adults and beginners who just want to get moving on the dance floor
No dance experience required—everyone is welcome!
We had MORE moms join our workshop that month than we had students! What a blast!
November Kids Dance Camp

👧 Ages: 3–9
Our November Kids Dance Camp: Join this thanksgiving inspired dance camp with fun games, crafts, dance class and bible lesson!
A dance experience packed with games, movement, and creativity
Designed for kids ages 3–9 to experience dance in a fun and Christ-centered way! While learning the truth of the Gospel & God’s Word!
Give your child a bright, joyful Friday afternoon and let them shine on the dance floor! 💖 Great way to invite friends!
💃 Dance Revolution “Standout” Tour!
We are thrilled to announce the Dance Revolution “Standout” Tour happening January 30–February 1! This is a Christian dance convention that we attend every year, and it is truly an incredible experience for our dancers.
We’re sharing the dates now so families can plan ahead:
Convention cost: $260–$270 per dancer
Additional costs: travel, hotel, and food fees
Just outside Chicago IL
This convention is open to dancers as young as 6 years old and is a fantastic opportunity for your dancer to:
Grow as a dancer and take classes with like-minded artists
Be spiritually encouraged and inspired through dance
Bond with fellow dancers from our studio during an unforgettable weekend
In the past, we’ve taken a group of about 10 dancers, and this year we’re hoping to bring 15 dancers! Parents are welcome to attend as well—there is a $50 observation fee for those who want to watch the sessions. It’s SO worth it to just watch even!

Christmas PJ Week!
That’s right! Our annual Christmas PJ Week is back! Ditch the dress code for the last week of SOTA classes before the Christmas Show and Christmas Break.
Please be sure PJs are modest (no shorts) or low cut tops. AND also prepare for some SNOWBALL HOCKEY! A beloved tradition in the FPDF family!
This is the last week of classes before the show and break, after the Christmas show all weekly classes will be done and we resume January 5th 2026.
We STILL will have KDC on the 19th of December!
Make Up Class & Christmas Show Practice AT THE STUDIO

We will be having classes that had to cancel normally scheduled classes for teacher reasons to be made up on this day. AS WELL AS End Finale Practice and Production Rehearsal.
Note: If your class name is NOT listed you don’t have a make up class scheduled. However all dancers have rehearsal for End Finale Practice!
