Statement of Faith

These statements of faith do not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself as the inspired and infallible Word of God speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all we believe.

Final Authority

We believe in the verbal and written inspiration of the Scriptures, through divine inspiration by God the Holy Spirit to ordinary men called by God. In the original writings, they are without error and are the very Word of God: the everlasting and complete revelation of God. They are our complete and final authority for faith, life, and godliness.

We believe in the normal, literal, grammatical, and consistent interpretation of the Scriptures.

The Godhead

We believe that Scripture teaches that there is only one living and true God, an infinite and all-powerful Spirit, the Creator of heaven and earth who is by nature holy, and extraordinary and worthy of all praise, glory, honor, and love. God eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - yet is one in essence and equal in nature, attributes, and every divine perfection, and executes distinct but harmonious functions.

John 4:24; John 1:1-4; Revelation 4:11

The Father

We believe that Scripture teaches that God the Father is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power. He concerns himself with the affairs of men. He hears and answers prayers according to His divine will. He saves from sin all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Exodus 15:11; Romans 11:33; James 1:5-6; Ephesians 1:12-14

The Son

We believe that Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, possessing both absolute Deity and perfect humanity, and He lived a sinless life. He came that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man by reconciling them back to God the Father. He bore our sins in His own body on the cross, and gave His life as a sufficient, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. The Lord’s crucified body was raised from the dead three days after His death. He ascended bodily into heaven and is today exalted at the right hand of God, acting as the believer’s Advocate and Great High Priest. We believe He will come again to judge the living and the dead, and His Kingdom will have no end.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Scriptures teach that The Holy Spirit is not just an influence, but a person equal to the Father and Son. He was active in Creation. He is actively involved in the world today as He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment to come. He bears witness to and empowers the truth of the Gospel and is the agent of new birth in every believer. In salvation, the work of the Holy Spirit includes the following: He indwells, seals, baptizes, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps believers until the day of redemption. He gives gifts of service according to His will for the edification of the body.

Creation, Fall, Redemption

We believe the Scriptures teach that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. Adam and Eve were His first human creation. The serpent (Satan himself) deceived Eve into disobeying God by eating from the Tree of Life. Adam also ate the fruit, and their eyes were opened, and sin entered the world. Throughout the years, man tried to reconcile himself to God in many ways, but it was only through the blood of Jesus Christ that salvation and redemption were made. Sin is anything contrary to the character of God. Man voluntarily chose to disobey God and as a result the whole world inherited a sinful nature. All human beings are born with a sin nature in thought, word, and deed. In the fall, man incurred the just condemnation of a Holy God, without defense or excuse, resulting in both physical and spiritual death.

We believe the Scriptures teach that Man’s only hope of eternal life is through redemption in Jesus Christ. To be right with God, redemption is required for all mankind. Salvation is wholly of God’s grace through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God who made a way through His death and resurrection. We believe that in order to be saved, all men must be born again by putting their faith in the work that Jesus did on the earth, believing that He is the only way to get to the Father and choosing now to follow Him.

Marriage, Gender and Sexuality

We believe the Scriptures teach that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male and female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that marriage is between a man and woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other, and that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, pedophilia, bestiality, incest, cohabitation, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God.
